Score!

Emery played his last game of the season with a great game! He put all he had in the game as his family stood on the side lines cheering him on. The could not have been anymore perfect with the sun warming the skin in the early morning breeze.

The first image is Emery running across the field with the soccer ball to score another goal. The next image is Emery's father Tim giving him a father son pep talk on the field. The words that were said will stay between them :)

Thanks Emery for a great game!

Left Field

Pentax announced its 645D medium format digital camera just recently on their website. They plan for it to start shipping globally December 2010. The suggested retail price is $10,000.00 for the kit. The 645D is said to produce extra-sharp, super-high-resolution images because of its approximately 40 effective megapixels.
Just like the new release of the K5 the 645D is fully weather resistant. I was really starting to debate to stay with Pentax with their lack of more top performing cameras. But this has really changed the playing field. Out of left field Pentax has shocked me and decided to play hard ball.

Texture?

With the rainy weather keeping me indoors the last couple of days the editing process has got me trying new things. I have been playing with the idea of textures. What do you think? Too much, too little? Is it distracting from the subject? This is the first image I have tried it out on and I think it is starting to grown on me.

Birthday Fun!

Emery's 5th Birthday was a monster truck theme celebrated with family and friends! The day was sunny and warm but that didn't stop all the fun! It started with monster truck racing, on to other games gifts and then the cake to end the party perfectly! The first shot is Emery blowing out his candles, while the second shows the detail of his birthday cake.

On Sunday 10.03.2010 Darla and John celebrated their day of marriage! The day could not have been any more perfect, the weather was just right with a slight breeze and the sun to warm the skin. They are an amazing couple and I am so glad I got to share their beautiful day with them! The first image shows the detail on her dress which was so stunning I just had to capture its beauty. I love the second shot as Darla rests her eyes and takes in the moment that she is now a married women. Congratulations to the Bride and Groom!!

Is it time for a change?

Just recently Pentax announced thier new DSLR camera. Pentax K5 has a lot more features compared to what the company has offered in the past. It is being compared to the Nikon D7000 which is in comparison quite a bit cheaper. Pentax has listed the K5 at a starting price of $1600.00 where Nikon has the D7000 listed for $1200.00. The K5 is 16.3 MP while Nikon is right there with 16.2 MP. Both offer a 3 inch LCD screen and full HD 1080p video qualities. The D7000 has 39 AF points while the K5 falls short with only 11 AF points. But the K5 does take a step above because of the magnesium alloy body which is completely weather sealed and ISO 100-12800, expandable to 80 and 512oo. Should I check into getting into the Nikon family or should I stick with the trusty Pentax? So far Pentax has been a great camera but will they offer room for growth in the future?
