Pentax announced its 645D medium format digital camera just recently on their website. They plan for it to start shipping globally December 2010. The suggested retail price is $10,000.00 for the kit. The 645D is said to produce extra-sharp, super-high-resolution images because of its approximately 40 effective megapixels. Just like the new release of the K5 the 645D is fully weather resistant. I was really starting to debate to stay with Pentax with their lack of more top performing cameras. But this has really changed the playing field. Out of left field Pentax has shocked me and decided to play hard ball.
